Podcast - Going places with God - A time to rest....A time to fight 15/05/2012

On Sunday, Chris Parker-Jones spoke on two subjects.  In the morning he spoke about 'A time to rest' from Exodus 15:27.  God's rest is not a place of weakness, but it is a place of strength.
In the evening he spoke about 'A time to fight' from Exodus 17:8-16.

Podcasts - Your Word Is A Lamp Unto My Feet & Be Doers Of The Word 01/05/2012

On Sunday morning, Paul spoke about the Word of God being a Lamp unto our Feet and in the evening he spoke about being Doers of the Word of God. In both the morning and evening services he played a video - which I have cut out because it was too noisy.

The video in the morning was about a pick-up truck saving the day when a plane could not land.

The video in the evening was dolphins being washed up on the shore and people were dragging them back into the sea so that they would not die.

Podcast - But God, who is rich in mercy... 24/04/2012

This evening, Wesley spoke from Ephesians 2:1-10.

I made a boo boo and switched the recording off after Wesley prayed because I though he had finished and was going in to communion, but then he continued to preach after that.  So, there are two podcasts in this post.  The second was is very short - but very important.

CARDIFF NIGHT SHELTER 23/03/2012

Even if I dole out all that I have [to the poor in providing] food, and if I surrender my body to be burned or  in order that I may glory, but have not love (God's love in me), I gain nothing.
1 Corinthians 13:3

One more Thursday evening of Cardiff Night Shelter - and then it is over until next Winter...... I've been pondering.  Will we hear that some have been re-united with their families?  Will we hear that some have found work and a place to live?  Will we see the same guys next winter?  Will we hear that some have lost their lives due to  and overdose?  Will we hear that some are in prison?   Who will be on the streets this coming winter?

'There, but for the grace of God, go I.'  I remember my mother using those words in the small town where we grew up.  Every time she saw someone less fortunate and struggling - she would say those words.

Over this period we have seen some guys come to Christ. One has gone to a Christian rehab centre. One of the guys went 'cold turkey' to come off heroin and has accepted Jesus as his Saviour.  All of these guys need our continuous prayers.

We have come to love these guys - really love them.  Our hearts have been broken and softened - what now, LORD?  Open doors, we ask, in the Name of Jesus Christ.

Margaret spoke from Matthew 25 about the talents.

Church was wonderful this morning.  DeFreitas, one of the guys that comes and sleeps over in the church on a Thursday night with the Cardiff Night Shelter, came to church and asked if he could say something.  His testimony is just before Margaret's sermon.
